Pilgrim flags learning curve

In my 60th year "to heaven" - to capture a portion of a sentence of one of the most famous poems of Dylan Thomas - I'm about to embark on a pilgrimage.
It is the most important pilgrimages of my intentional - the others I remember a prayer vigil all night in honor of Our Lady at Three Springs, about 300 km north of Perth in 1975 and a trip solo Lismore, NSW, Western Australia in a "shovel nose" at the age of 31 years, Toyota Corona in 1995.
A couple of years back, when I announced my intention to become a pilgrim at WYD 2011 in Madrid in a passenger train fellow, he seemed not to understand.
Soon he felt seeing my little year in August had removed the "young" category, I have it in the right way.
"In the eyes of eternity, my years are a blink of an eye, but," I explained. What could he do, but the purse from his mouth, think and nod?
