Is a collection of decorative art and fine turn-of-century Europe: Period treasures as etched glass, Lalique designed bottle of perfume from Paris, a cigarette case sterling silver advanced from England, and a lithograph by Munch smoked a femme fatale erotic.

Designs heterogeneous objects "from the beautiful exotic botany at insidiously, reflecting the complex era breakaway from 1890 to 1910.These signs of this transition period illustrate the high-octane emotional people changing their time, springing from the era of free-straight-laced, the Group Think Victorian flights of imagination, dream and 'sensual imagination.

As MFAH curator Christine Gervais wrote so eloquently in the text wall, the artists of the time was a rapidly changing world at the end of January 1901, after the death of Queen Victoria of England, who had reigned for 63 long years.

"Artists have sought to find a new art, new art, to break free of historical styles," said Gervais, noting that the most important was the inspiration of nature: The transformation and metamorphosis of life.
