If Iris does return, let's treat her with sympathy and respect

For someone who was so clearly fascinated by the spotlight, it is strange when Iris Robinson has suddenly disappeared last year.
She was zooming around his Mini Cooper, trailing clouds of expensive perfume in her wake, or comment "unparliamentary" against Health Minister Michael McGimpsey and suspended from the Assembly or phone on the Nolan Show to condemn homosexuality in the most extreme terms of the Old Testament, Iris was hard to miss.
When she became First Lady, she was even more visible.Everyone knows that these pictures of Iris in the office of Prime Minister - always elegantly dressed like a big cross around his neck - kiss her husband, who was sitting there, looking shyly pleased. And then, just before the news about his relationship with a businessman teenage broke, Iris has disappeared as surely and quickly, as if she had gone in a puff of smoke. His sudden departure was attributed to mental illness, and was reported to the receiving acute psychiatric care.
